Summary:
Promotes breastfeeding in the Special Supplemental Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) clinic and the community by providing education, assistance and support to breastfeeding mothers and their infants to attain a successful breastfeeding relationshipProvides, evaluates, and documents breastfeeding education, counseling, support and follow-up for families experiencing routine and/or complex issues associated with lactation and breastfeeding.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
1Serve as a Designated Breastfeeding Expert (DBE)Provides counseling and support for families experiencing routine and/or complex issues associated with lactation and breastfeedingEvaluates breastfeeding process with mother/infant, based on the individual needs and goals of the breastfeeding mother/infant including evaluation of outcomes and appropriate follow-up.
2Serves as Breastfeeding Coordinator and/or Peer Counselor CoordinatorPlans, develops, obtains approval for and implements Annual Breastfeeding Education Plan.
3Provides training on breastfeeding issues to others on the WIC team and shares information from current breastfeeding reference materialsTrains Breastfeeding Peer Counselors in accordance with State Agency requirementsEnsures compliance with required training to include attending conferences and meetings.
4Provides, evaluates, and documents breastfeeding education, counseling, support and consistent follow-up contacts with clientsPerforms all duties following State and local agency policies, procedures and guidelines.
5Evaluates, issues, orders and maintains appropriate documentation of the breastfeeding equipment and supply issuancesMaintains documentation of contacts and counseling as required by state; audits logs and inventory monthly or more frequently.
6Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships with participants, staff and community services supportive of breastfeeding families.
7Provide excellent internal/external customer service via telephone, fax, or face to face contact to members.
8Performs other departmental duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent requiredMust have current certification from IBCLCMust be trained in accordance with the State AgencyBilingual in English and Spanish preferredMust have telephone availability and have access to reliable transportationTravel required as requestedPrior knowledge of the WIC program preferredPHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
